Emergency Services

The Township Board voted to approve an agreement to separate from Clinton Area Fire and Rescue Service as of 10:00 a.m. on June 15th, 2016. Laingsburg, Sciota, Woodhull Fire Authority (LSW) is now providing our residents with fire and emergency medical response services. The new contract with LSW will cost the Township less money in the 2016-17 budget than with CAFR. It is anticipated that staffing at the Alward Fire Station will increase with the proximity to the main LSW station in Laingsburg and we will see improved response times. Those residents in the northwest section of the township will see no change in coverage with automatic mutual aid contracts with neighboring fire authorities remaining intact.
